Loading multiple maps on Garmin 60CSX
« : julio 29, 2012, 02:54:27 pm »
Do you know if I can load both the Perutable 3.92 and the 20M TOPO at the same time and switch between the two maps.  Or do I have to choose which map of Pewru I want to use until I connect to my laptop and load another map?
I'd really like to be able to use both the road and TOPO features together.

Sorry Derrel, but do not quite understand if your question is regarding a computer (MapSource or similar) or a GPS device ?

If you mean MapSource for example, the answer is no. Each is a separate project and can not be seen together.

If it is a Garmin GPS unit, the answer is yes. The Topo-20 is a transparent map and in positioned on the routable map.

There are two methods to put two (or more) projects in the GPS:
1. Install both projects in MapSource and send together to the GPS.
2. Use a trick, a different name (if your GPS supports them) for each project or different memories (internal / external) for each project. Remember that by default Garmin uses the name gmapsupp.img for the detail map.

Sorry for my English.

Gracias amigo,

I loaded both together and it works perfectly with the Topo and roads overlaid on the handhelp GPS.

Muchos gracias,
Darrell
